1987 Porsche 911 Turbo Look Cabriolet

This is my 1987 Porsche 911 Turbo Look Cabriolet.  Here is a brief history of the car. The car was purchased new by a CA couple as a standard 911 cabriolet in December 1986 from Taylor Classic Motors in Vallejo, CA. 

The owners traded in the car to Bruce Canepa Motor Cars in Santa Cruz, CA in August  1987.  Bruce Canepa Motor Cars (www.canepa.com) installed an all steel turbo look package along with custom Italian Momo wheels. The car, now only 9 months old was purchased for $57,500 by a wealthy Lenexa, KS gentleman as an anniversary present for his wife.  He had the car shipped from CA to Lenexa, KS.  There he had a custom stereo and 12 disc CD changer installed.  For the next 15 years the car was driven as a second car by his wife.  It was garaged the entire 15 years and was never driven in rain or snow. 

In June of 2001 the car was purchased by a Hallmark Cards executive in a suburb of Kansas City, MO as a second car.    He drove the car a total of 1500 miles in the summer months, the car was never driven in rain or snow.   I purchased the car from him in April 2003 with 41,272 original miles.    

Soon after purchasing the car I added Porsche embroidered floor mats, a K&N air filter and replaced the factory rear speakers with a pair of Infinity 4 1/2" speakers and factory front speakers with a pair of Infinity  5 1/4" speakers.  In April 2004 I added a PowerChip94 computer performance chip (www.powerchipgroup.com) to increase the horsepower and overall performance. In April 2005 I added a Fabspeed Motorsport's (www.fabspeed.com) Dual Outlet Sport Exhaust Muffler.  The dual outlets are 4.5" rolled edge, angle cut and mirror polished. The muffler is extra heavy duty 16 gauge stainless steel. These modifications pushed the stock 214hp to 250hp according to Fabspeed and PowerChip documentation.  In April 2006 I had Willow Grove Auto Top (www.wgautotop.com) install a new carpet kit and a new convertible top, seals and headliner.  As of October 2009 the car has 51425 miles on it.
